“Derek was a very knowledgeable GM and always has tons of insights to share. Great follow-up conversations about more rooms to complete and to share his passion for creating/playing. He also has a fun lobby puzzle to solve too if you can find it. The room itself has a lot of care built into it and feels unique. Every puzzle flowed into another and was hard enough that it felt like we had to work for it. Great room overall even though it's on the older side, it feels unique enough that it's unlike the other lock and key rooms that you've probably done. A good hybrid between the mechanical and hi-tech aspects of an escape room. Would suggest 4 for this room!”

“Let me just start this review by saying that this room is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. I walked in and I was easily transported to an enchanted forest. My advice is to just take your time absorbing all the details. We had plenty of time to spare in the end, and we took our time doing the puzzles, which made for an enjoyable experience. When we signed in, our game master, Beca, introduced us to this room by telling us this whimsical, fantastical story and I was so caught off guard that it raised the standard for me of how each escape room should start. Great job, Beca! As for the puzzles, I agree with most of the reviews here in their "easy" rating. It starts off linear at first, and then if you have a group of four, you can split up in the second room. I would recommend four people at most for this room. The story is simple enough. You need to find things to defeat the evil wizard, Haladrax, so look around the room. I highly recommend this room, and it is family friendly and beginner friendly as well.”

“The set was actually incredible and the flow from each room was truly exciting, however the puzzles were just “okay”. It was a bit confusing because we kept getting held up over the prop manuals and diaries thinking we needed information from them but they didn’t really help at all. Also has a very unique ending ;)”

“One of my favourite rooms!!! Just book it if you haven’t already! I’m not usually a fan of the Egypt theme but omg this room is INCREDIBLE. It NEVER ends!!! There was only one “puzzle” I really didn’t enjoy that involved digital snakes. It was truly frustrating but everything else was absolutely mind blowing.”

“Without a doubt, the best room I’ve ever done. It’s 50% escape room, 50% immersive theatre. While there are some solid puzzles, the focus is more on the experience. It was terrifying, exhilarating and unforgettable. I was seriously buzzing for hours after we left.”

“Welcome to Jumanji is an exceptional escape room that pays a stellar tribute to the Jumanji universe. I love themed rooms so I expected to love this one coming in. The puzzles were a bit lackluster but it delivers on the nostalgia. One of the novel parts of this escape room is that each player gets to choose a character from the movie. Based on your characters, your team has to work together to leverage each other's strengths. The minimum number of people for this room is four and everyone has something to do! This is one of the better rooms in the 60Out Franchise. As for the engagement of the puzzles though, I will say that I think it starts and ends well but the middle felt like a lot of filler. However, the surprise at the end makes up for it. The middle room also becomes nonlinear, which means that your group can divide and conquer. There is only street parking in Melrose, so plan accordingly. Lots of references to the movies, and all of the puzzles worked for us, but I could see how folks may have a different experience if the production does not deliver.”

“What a fun and surprising escape room this is! The theme is hilarious and you slowly uncover the mystery of what happened to grandma. I love that you start out in her house and then progress more and more. Lots of fun hidden places and good use of technology. I did this room with 4 people but you can probably do 5-6 especially if some are newbies. Lots to do and solve and the ending, if you get there, is so fun like you are actually escaping!”

“This room made you feel like you walked into a small town. You can never go wrong with the set design with this company. We took family with us to this room and they were amazed by the set design. Can't wait to see if more rooms are made”

“This room was fantastic and so unique. It’s hard to tell where the set ended and the puzzle began. This was my in laws first room and they really enjoyed since the puzzle were accessible and very unique to the room (no prior experience necessary).”

“There's SO MUCH TO DO in this room, we were mad scrambling towards the end but made it somehow. Lots of novel experiences in this room, you're definitely going to do something you didn't think you were going to do. Ray was a great GM and certainly got us into the mood. Be prepared to move around and try to keep track of everything. If you've got a small group, be ready to hustle and even then you can probably play this room twice. Ideally suggest something like 4-6 people.”

“We were so excited for this room and it did not disappoint! The puzzles were clever and the immersion was awesome. We did have one lock issue but our GM Ben was nothing short of fantastic. His sidekick Shiloh was a sweetie, as seen in the photo! Looking forward to coming back here for their other rooms!”

Unless you’ve visited Hollywood before, it can be hard to describe. It’s sunny, it’s wealthy, it’s full of diverse cultures, and at any given time you might see a famous person at Whole Foods. As you tour the many wonders of this desert dreamland, be sure to keep an eye out for Paramount Studios, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and treat yourself to an In-N-Out Burger (animal style). Aside from these attractions, Hollywood is also alive with some of the most unique and immersive escape rooms in the country. It’s no surprise, given that the city’s name is synonymous with some of the most iconic films of all time. There’s a lot to take in, but if you’re looking to be the star of your own Great Escape, here are the best spots in town.
The escape room scene is alive in Hollywood. Since the first escape rooms arrived in Los Angeles in 2016, the film capital of the United States hasn’t stopped crafting these immersive puzzle experiences. In fact, Los Angeles proper is home to 49 different escape room venues. If you look around, you’ll notice several places that are expanding the definition of experiential entertainment in Hollywood. From the expansive Escape Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard to the innovative Escape Revolution on Melrose Avenue, there’s plenty to experience in the City of Angels. With over 170 escape games in the entire area, the possibilities are nearly endless — you’ll find games with themes of horror, adventure, crime, espionage, and plenty you may not expect.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
There are plenty of awesome escape rooms to choose from in Hollywood. The goal of Morty is to make escape rooms more accessible for everyone to find and play. With Morty, you can: - Browse escape rooms anywhere in the country - Read reviews and ratings from other community members - Book a room together with your friends Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned escape room enthusiast, our aim is to help you play more escape rooms and visit more immersive attractions.
Most escape room venues don’t accept walk-ins, and time slots for popular games may fill up fast. Besides that, not every escape room is the same — some have varying difficulties, and you don’t want to get stuck playing a room that’s beyond your experience level. That’s why the best way to book an escape room in Hollywood is through the Morty app. You can get updates on new games, read reviews, compare details (including difficulty, theme, runtime) and plan an outing with friends, all on the same platform. You can even coordinate games with your friends collaboratively. Download the Morty app and book your adventure today!
